Cats Ahoy is an independent Canadian charity, created to provide a mobile adoption service allowing many animal rescues, humane societies, and SPCA's access to the benefits of mobile adoption vans, to maximize the exposure of their cats to the public, and increase their adoptions. This enables us to directly compete with pet stores by making nice, healthy, spayed/neutered rescue cats available to the public in a convenient, accessible format - a viable alternative to pet store animals - the "Adoption Option"!
An independent mobile adoption program is a new way of approaching an old problem - it's versatile, proactive, and will have a large impact on: public awareness about adopting rescue animals; the convenience of making these rescue animals available to the public in local community locations; and in the number of adoptions performed each year. More adoptions means more lives saved. It's a program that makes sense... take the pets to the people!
